Boris’s killer wheeze for his girl’s birthday
GROWING up with Boris Johnson as your father must, no doubt, come with plenty of surprises, but I bet even his eldest daughter wasn’t prepared for what dad lined up for her sixth birthday party – a fake execution!
Lara Lettice Johnson-Wheeler, now 28, pictured right with her father, recounts how she like many other little girls had asked her mum, Marina Wheeler QC, and dad for a princess party.
But the now-divorced couple had a very different idea and decided that a Henry VIII theme was more appropriate.
As Lara explains, the celebrations took a slightly sinister turn.
‘My parents got the neighbour’s nanny to dress up as an executioner,’ she says.
‘To be honest, I was kind of used to it, but most of the children were horrified, particularly when Anne Boleyn lost her head (a balloon and ketchup were involved).’
