WE SHOULD ALL AIM TO BE DOLLY GOOD

I LOVE Dolly Parton – smart and sassy, yet still pretending that she is really little more than a bundle of light melodies and homespun charm.

In fact, she’s a very successful businesswoman, an artist that has mastered longevity and a philanthropist that has both funded Covid vaccine research and helped poor children to read.

She also seems a good laugh. This week, at the age of 75, she dressed in a bunny girl costume to recreate a Playboy front cover she posed for in 1978. It was for her husband’s birthday. ‘He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years. I’m not going to try to talk him out of that,’ she said.

So as well as mastering music, acting, producing, business and charity, she’s got marriage sorted too. Like I say, we should all be more like Dolly.
