Author Dodie Smith’s book is faithfully adapted in this period drama set in 1930s England. Romola Garai (above) plays 17-year-old diarist Cassandra, who leads a peculiar existence with her oddball family in a ramshackle castle, until change arrives in the form of two American brothers. ★★★★★
