WHAT TO WATCH ON SUPER SUNDAY

TWENTY-FIVE gold medals are on offer, including the men’s 100m final on the track. Swimming, tennis and boxing competitio­ns all come to a conclusion.

ATHLETICS

ALL eyes will be on the track for the men’s 100m final – the first since Olympic legend Usain Bolt retired. It’s live on BBC1 and Eurosport at 1.50pm our time. The men’s high jump final at 11.10am features 22-year-old Brit Tom Gale.

GYMNASTICS

MAX WHITLOCK hopes to retain his pommel title at 10.41am – but he needs to improve on his qualifying score which was way below his gold-winning performanc­e in Rio five years ago.

TENNIS

THERE are gold medal matches in men’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The winner of the men’s will replace reigning champion Andy Murray, who pulled out of Tokyo with an injury. The men’s final will start at about 8.15am with German Alexander Zverev up against Russian Karen Khachanov.

BOXING

GREAT Britain’s Ben Whittaker and Pat McCormack are both guaranteed medals after winning their quarter-final fights on Friday. McCormack faces Ireland’s Aidan Walsh in the men’s welterweig­ht semi-finals at 4.03am before light-heavyweigh­t Whittaker faces Russian Imam Khataev at 4.51am.

SAILING

THE women’s one-person laser dinghy medal race, with Brit Alison Young, starts at 7.33am.

SWIMMING

THE men’s 50m freestyle final is at 2.30am and will feature Brit Benjamin Proud while the 1,500m freestyle final at 2.44am sees his teammate Daniel Jervis bidding for glory. British team James Guy, James Wilby, Duncan Scott and Luke Greenbank will be hoping to win more medals in the men’s 4x100m relay final at 3.36am.

CYCLING BMX FREESTYLE

THE women’s cycling BMX park final sees Britain’s Charlotte Worthingto­n aiming for gold. Declan Hunt of Britain competes in the men’s event. Both events will be all over by 5am.
