TOM DALEY has garnered a legion of fans in Japan, captivated by his knitting patterns and tattoos.
Team GB’s golden boy, who added a bronze medal yesterday to his haul, left, even featured in the local edition of Vogue magazine. The fashion bible reported on his use of the Japanese flag on his medal holder as well as his Team GB Olympic cardigan. Daley’s knitting Instagram page has soared tenfold in the past week to more than one million followers after he caught the attention of the cameras at the Aquatics Centre while in the act (right).
Tattoos among the Olympic competitors have also been a source of fascination in the socially conservative host country. Both Tom and swimmer Adam Peaty sport the Games’ five-ring logo on their arms.
