IT’S an out-of-this-world opportunity to experience life on Mars – Nasa is looking for volunteers to give up a year of their life to take part in a simulated manned mission to the Red Planet.

They want four people to move into an artificial Martian habitat in Houston created by a 3D printer. The idea is to study the volunteers on a simulated Martian exploration mission complete with ‘spacewalks’, limited communications and space food and resources.

Would-be pioneers must have an MA in science, engineering or maths, pilot experience – and be US citizens.
