Now, Scotland is to pioneer the ‘most exclusive, luxury ultra-run experience on the planet’. It’s also going to be the most expensive. The 120-mile Highland Kings Ultra will cost more than £15,000 to enter.

Organisers say runners will ‘race like a warrior and recover like a king’ with private chefs, speedboats, butlers and hydropools. Let’s see if it takes off.
