Michael Johnson Meets...

During his long career, US athlete Michael Johnson (right) enjoyed plenty of triumphs, but he also suffered various injury-related setbacks. But none of them proved as serious as the stroke he had in 2018, after which he had to learn to walk again.

Johnson credits his recovery to his 'Olympic mindset', and in a new series, which ties in with the forthcoming Paralympics in Tokyo, he's meeting other successful sports people who share the same determination and have managed to triumph over adversity.

Future episodes will see him chat to wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft and table tennis star Will Bayley, but he begins by meeting up with swimmer Ellie Simmonds, who discusses growing up in the limelight. Afterwards, cyclist Kadeena Cox talks about her battle with MS and the pressure to defend her titles. ★★★★★
