TIM RICHARDS, 62: HIS LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

FAMILY: Married to Sylvie, an awardwinning independent film and TV producer, for 30 years with three children, Melanie, 26, Camille, 22, and 19-year-old Alex. HOME: Richards, the son of a Canadian diplomat, was born in Toronto and grew up in Brazil. He has lived in London for the last 30 years, currently in Richmond Park. ‘It’s the greatest city on earth.’

CAREER: Started out as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer in New York and London. He joined Paramount/Universal in 1990 then became senior vice-president of Warner Brothers in 1994. He founded Vue International, originally called SBC International Cinemas, in 1999 and opened its first cinema in Livingston, Scotland, the following year.

HOBBIES: Amateur racing driver and has raced in the GT Cup Championship. He is also a former professional downhill skier. Enjoys tennis and cycling.
