Trouble in paradise: from Mike White, writer of acclaimed film comedies Chuck & Buck and School Of Rock, comes this six-part US series set over a week on a luxury resort in Hawaii.

At The White Lotus spa hotel guests are promised that their every desire will be satisfied – but each of the new arrivals brings plenty of emotional baggage along with their Louis Vuitton cases, while the staff also have plenty more than just the haute cuisine meals on their plates.

Manager Armond (Murray Bartlett) masks a chequered past beneath his easy smile, while newlywed Shane (Jake Lacy) is more focused on what's wrong with the hotel booking than his honeymoon with Rachel (Alexandra Daddario, right with Lacy). Steve Zahn is Mark, a hypochondriac whose fears for his health might be justified in this winning, if dark, satire.
