Give Geronimo a chance

What a terrible decision by

Cabinet Minister George Eustice, who defended the decision to put down Geronimo the alpaca without giving the poor animal a chance of a final test. It would have been so simple to permit. I hope everyone remembers this in a couple of years when Mr Eustice pleads with us to vote for him.

What I can’t understand is why Geronimo is still alive. Each day that passes brings a risk of his TB spreading. It is tragic and his owner Helen Macdonald will be heartbroken, as so many farmers before her have been at seeing their animals culled. However, Geronimo cannot be the exception to the rule.
