TV fan buys up Del Boy’s garage door

IT’S arguably the most famous garage door in TV history.

It was behind their red lock-up door that Del Boy and Rodney found a rare pocket watch which finally made them millionaires in the sitcom Only Fools And Horses. Now it has been bought by collector Scott Harrington, who said he hopes to put the door on display, alongside Del Boy’s Reliant Regal van.

The original garage was in Bristol, where some of the show’s scenes were shot. The local Bottle Yard TV studios took care of the door after the garage was refurbished and Mr Harrington bought it in return for a ‘generous donation’ to charity. A Bottle Yard spokesman said: ‘The door is a fun slice of TV history that we wanted preserved.’
