ATHLETICS: Elaine Thompson-Herah, the Olympic 100-metre champion, ran the second fastest-ever time at the distance in women’s history last night in Oregon.
The Jamaican clocked a time of 10.54 seconds in the Eugene Diamond League. Only American Florence Griffith-Joyner has a faster time, with 10.49secs in 1988.
In the same 1-2-3 at Tokyo, compatriots Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson chased her home.
