Lady leads Brit charge

-

LADY BOWTHORPE, who gave trainer William Jarvis his first Group One winner for 27 years when successful in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, heads a strong British challenge at Deauville this afternoon when she runs in the Group One Prix Jean Romanet (3.25pm).

Kieran Shoemark’s mount is joined in the race by James Fanshawe-trained Audarya, winner of the race in 2020. Five of the 14 two-year-olds in a hot Group One Prix Morny (2.50) are also trained in Britain, including two Glorious Goodwood scorers — Richard Hannon’s Armor and Alan King’s Asymmetric — plus Richard Fahey’s Royal Ascot scorer Perfect Power. Irish-trained Royal Ascot scorer Quick Suzy also runs.
