FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE AT LORD’S
SOUTHERN Brave became the first men’s champions in The Hundred after defying Liam Livingstone’s pyrotechnics to beat Birmingham Phoenix in the final.
Paul Stirling hit six sixes in his 61 off 36 while Ross Whiteley cleared the rope four times in an unbeaten 44 off 19 as the Brave posted 168 for five. Phoenix’s Livingstone hit four fours and four sixes in a 19-ball 46 before being run out as the Brave won by 32 runs at Lord’s.
Earlier, the Oval Invincibles won the women’s final, beating Southern Brave by 48 runs.
