It really is love actually! The proof Bill Nighy HAS melted ice queen Wintour
BILL NIGHY said it with flowers when he arrived for dinner with Anna Wintour, carrying red roses.
The actor made the romantic gesture when the pair met for a rendezvous in Rome last Thursday.
They are said to have become close after the Vogue editor-in-chief split from her husband of 16 years, Shelby Bryan, last year.
Ms Wintour listened intently to the Love Actually star during their intimate meal – she even ditched her signature sunglasses. Rumours have been circulating about their friendship since 2015, with the pair – both 71 – spotted at fashion shows, theatres and restaurants.
In January last year, Wintour was said to have been ‘beaming’ and looked ‘happier than ever’ when she and Nighy were spotted dining out in New York.
Nighy has always declined to confirm whether their friendship is love, actually.
When asked about it in 2015, he replied: ‘Obviously I have nothing to say about that. There are a lot of rumours about me and probably about Anna Wintour.’
Wintour’s break-up from investor Shelby Bryan came in a difficult year. In May last year her former colleague and confidant, André Leon Talley, launched a blistering attack on her in a memoir, The Chiffon Trenches.
He claimed she had frozen him out because he was ‘too old, too overweight, too uncool’ for her.
