A freed jailbird tries to start afresh

In the first series, Miri (Daisy Haggard, left) returned to her family home on the Kentish coast desperate to try to restart her life after nearly two decades in prison for murder. It ended with her achieving a measure of peace and enjoying a growing friendship with neighbour Billy (Adeel Akhtar). The second series of the dark comedy – written by Haggard and Laura Solon – picks up three weeks later with Miri having a trial shift at a supermarket and feeling increasingly optimistic about her future.
