Green light for lefties
Well, there we have it. The Green/ SNP coalition shows that you don’t need to be a big fish in politics to reap the rewards of power.
Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater will see a pay rise of some £30,000 and enjoy the allocation of personal advisors. What a reward for being in charge of a party incapable of winning a constituency seat.
What this tawdry deal exposes is a dysfunctional voting system, clearly not fit for purpose but unlikely to be changed by those benefiting most from it.
Power does indeed corrupt the principles of those never before experiencing it but gifted the opportunity to gain it.
Can Scottish politics sink any further into the mire?
