Kate spreads the love

THEY were the scenes that left fans of the gripping drama Mare Of Easttown deeply troubled. No, not the murders and kidnappings – the sight of Kate Winslet squirting cans of Easy Cheese spread on to cheese puffs, above.

Kate, 45, admits it was her idea to make the unhealthy concoction her character’s favourite snack – as she loves it herself. ‘I must have gone through about three-and-a-half cans,’ says Kate, who played detective Mare Sheehan in the Emmy-nominated series. ‘Our props woman was like, “Do you want to see the ingredients?” and I was like, “Don’t show me, don’t put me off!”’
