INVERNESS CONTINUE TO LEAD WAY AFTER FIGHTBACK

INVERNESS Caley Thistle sit top of the cinch Championsh­ip after coming from behind to beat Partick 3-1 and secure a fifth successive victory.

Scott Tiffoney put Partick ahead after 17 minutes but Inverness were denied an equaliser three minutes later as Manny Duku’s header hit the bar.

The home side eventually levelled through Kirk

Broadfoot six minutes after the break, then Shane Sutherland put Inverness ahead for the first time after 68 minutes.

Aaron Doran (below) added a third three minutes later when he fired into the top corner.

Arbroath secured a third win in five matches with a 4-0 victory over Hamilton.

Scott Stewart scored on the stroke of half-time before Michael McKenna drilled one into the top corner for his sixth league goal of the season.

The situation got worse for the visitors when Jamie Hamilton was sent off for a high tackle on Stewart.

Ayr picked up their first win of the league season with a

3-1 home victory over

Dunfermlin­e.

The Honest Men, under the caretaker leadership of Jim Duffy following the departure of David Hopkin, struck in the third minute through Tomi Adeloye before Cameron Salkeld’s header made it 2-0.

Nikolay Todorov pulled a goal back but Adeloye wrapped up the win in the 63rd minute.

Rory McKenzie’s strike helped Kilmarnock return to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Morton at Rugby Park.

Gavin Reilly was denied an early Morton opener by Jack Sanders on the line before Oli Shaw fired a low effort wide.

An excellent Michael Ledger tackle prevented Fraser Murray getting a shot away early in the second half but the Killie midfielder was then instrument­al in the winner.

It was Murray’s cross that created the opportunit­y for McKenzie to fire home at the back post and secure the three points for the hosts.

Lee Connelly’s early goal earned Queen of the South a 1-0 win over Raith at Stark’s Park.

The visitors came into the match having lost three of their opening four league games but they were quickly on the front foot and took a 12th-minute lead through Connelly’s effort.

Queens also struck the crossbar soon after as they looked to make the most of their good start but Raith — seeking a fourth successive win — rallied. However, they couldn’t find a way past Sol Brynn
