How prancing horses became lifesavers

-

A 130-YEAR-OLD lifeboat station in Wales has a new boathouse, and boat to put in it, thanks to an unusual legacy gift. Pwllheli Lifeboat crew now have state of the art equipment thanks to the £8.5 million raised from the auction of two rare Ferraris left to the RNLI. The 1960s sports cars were gifted by footwear magnate, Richard Colton who was a huge Ferrari enthusiast. The 60-yearold vehicles may have been the supercars of their day, but the new Shannon class lifeboat they’ve helped to fund would give them a run for their money in the speed stakes.
