Teen Spirit: Nevermind At 30

Like Kurt Cobain (right), during the early 1990s, author Douglas Coupland found himself being held up as the voice of a generation. So he’s the perfect person to host this look back at Nirvana’s seminal album, finding out what the record meant to figures from the world of music, literature, fashion, art and activism.

The Verb (Radio 3, 10pm) comes from the Contains Strong Language festival in Coventry, where Ian McMillan talks to former Birmingham Poet Laureate Roy McFarlane and musician Loyle Carner.

Sounds Of The 80s With Gary Davies (Radio 2, 8pm) features a look back at the decade’s Bond films – and themes.
