Hollington Drive ITV, 9pm
From The Stepford Wives to Doctor Foster, audiences have long learned to expect that enviable suburban settings will be the stage for shocking revelations.
And so it proves as we visit the prosperous neighbourhood of an unnamed British town. Cafe entrepreneur Theresa (Anna Maxwell Martin) and headteacher Helen (Rachael Stirling, right) are sisters who have made homes with their families on Hollington Drive.
Except for the nervily worried Theresa, everyone's all smiles when they meet together for a barbecue. But that looks like being the last happy moment they'll all share for a long time, after a local child is reported missing.
The cast is strong, but with Theresa at the heart of the story this is Maxwell Martin's show, and she's superb as a woman in permanent anguish because of the secrets she must hide. ★★★★★
