CAROL WELCH, 51: EARLY MORNING RUNNER

FAMILY: Married to Andy, a businessman, with two sons, Sam, 18 and Jamie, 15.

LIVES: Grew up near Tynemouth and now lives in a small village near Bedford. Holiday home on Lindisfarne.

DEGREE: Business studies at Manchester Polytechnic, now Manchester Metropolitan University.

CAREER: Started out working in marketing and commercial roles at PepsiCo and Associated British Foods, before becoming global chief marketing officer at Costa. Appointed as Odeon’s UK and Ireland managing director in 2017.

FAVOURITE FILM: Schindler’s List. ‘Tales of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.’

HOBBIES: Running, skiing, surfing, scuba-diving. A former competitive swimmer. Gets up around 5.30am to run for up to an hour. ‘It’s where I get a lot of my thinking done.’
