STALEMATE AT SOMERSET
AYR UNITED and Morton both had to settle for a point after a drab stalemate at Somerset Park yesterday.
In a game of few chances, the hosts edged proceedings. Tomi Adeloye flashed an early chance for Ayr in the first period. At half-time, Irish winger Daire O’Connor had to come off with a dislocated shoulder.
Gavin Reilly scooped over a decent chance from 12 yards out for Gus MacPherson’s visitors midway through the second period. Ayr spurned a few chances late on but the point lifts the hosts up to fifth.
