Covid forces admissions halt at flagship hospital
FOUR wards at the flagship Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow have been closed to admissions after a Covid outbreak.
It is understood one of the wards affected is for patients with respiratory conditions. An NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) spokesman said the action was in line with infection prevention and control protocols and would help to minimise the risk of further transmission.
Meanwhile, NHSGGC and NHS Lanarkshire announced a U-turn and said they would continue to run Covid vaccine drop-in centres.
