Our tides can supply the energy we need

Please can someone explain to me why we, as an island nation, do not invest more in tidal energy? There is one thing we can rely on and that is the tide – every day it comes in and out twice, with no raw material needed.

Here in Swansea we have the second highest tidal rise and fall in the world. The idea of a tidal lagoon power plant was explored a few years ago but nothing came of it. Why not?

Let us be world leaders in this.
