KILLIE LEFT FRUSTRATED

- By Alison McConnell

KILMARNOCK boss Tommy Wright was as frustrated as the booing fans inside Rugby Park after his side were undone by two late goals from Raith Rovers substitute Matej Poplatnik.

Having dominated for large spells of the game, particularly in the second period, two late goals from the on-loan Livingston striker condemned the home side to their second league defeat of the season.

The Rugby Park men had cancelled out an early headed goal from Liam Dick when Callum Hendry marked his debut with a strike. The overwhelming feeling in the ground then was that the hosts would go on to victory.

‘Fans can boo if they want,’ said Wright after the game. ‘If they don’t recognise that we did enough to win the game, then that isn’t something that I can do anything about.’

Raith boss John McGlynn said: ‘We showed character not to buckle when Kilmarnock were expected to go on and win.’
