FILM fans have a rare opportunity to get their hands on authentic Hollywood memorabilia as hundreds of costumes and props go under the hammer.

Among the classic items listed for sale next month are Freddy Krueger’s razor glove from A Nightmare On Elm Street, the helmet worn by Russell Crowe in Gladiator, and a Star Wars X-wing starfighter model.

In total, the movie memorabilia is worth an estimated £5.5 million.

Stephen Lane, founder and chief executive of Prop Store, which has organised the three-day online sale, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘People get hugely excited about going back and revisiting the film and having the artefacts next to them while they are watching it.’

A special effects model of an X-wing starfighter, which featured in one of the key battle scenes in the 1983 Star Wars film Return Of The Jedi, could go for as much as £300,000 – despite it measuring just three inches high and 12 inches wide.

Crowe’s gladiator’s helmet and face shield is expected to fetch about £50,000. The razor glove from horror film A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is expected to raise about £30,000.
