Let’s hear it
ITV’s new drama The Larkins is set in rural Kent in the 1950s, so as a resident of this county for decades, I am surprised we do not hear anything of the old Kentish accent which, even today, is still quite prevalent.
The Larkins family appear to be expatriate Londoners, but must we really believe that they would never encounter any real natives of their adopted county?
