Baaeed makes it six on the spin
BAAEED extended his unbeaten career to six races with a neck victory over Palace Pier in the Qipco British Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot.
Beating a rival who had gone into the race as the top-rated miler in Europe was a fitting climax to a brilliant first season for the colt trained by William Haggas and ridden by Jim Crowley, who only made his debut in a Leicester maiden in June.
Crowley said: ‘Baaeed could be a world champion. He’s a beast and keeps getting better. People forget he’s come such a long way in a short space of time. It’s a buzz to ride a horse that good.’
