Higgins fights back
SNOOKER: Four-time world champion John Higgins rolled back the years last night to book his spot in the Northern Irish Open final.
The Scot defeated Chinese star Yan Bingtao 6-2 to set up a final against Northern Irishman Mark Allen in Belfast tonight.
Higgins, world No 7, trailed 2-0 but reeled off six frames in succession to cruise to victory in the end.
Allen, world No 11, secured his place in the final of his home tournament after defeating Englishman Ricky Walden 6-3.
DARTS: World champion Gerwyn Price breezed through to the quarter-finals of the Cazoo European Championships at Salzburg last night after a 10-3 win over Adam Gawlas. The Welshman faces Michael van Gerwen in a mouthwatering clash after the Dutchman defeated England’s James Wade 10-4.
