ROUND-UP

JOHN McGINN starred for Aston Villa, scoring and providing an assist for Danny Ings, but the Scot still ended up on the losing side as Wolves fought back from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 success at Villa Park.

The Scotland midfielder delivered a cross on 47 minutes for Ings to head the Villains in front before capitalising on a mistake from Hwang Hee-Chan on the edge of the Wolves penalty area and smashing his deflected effort beyond Jose Sa midway through the second half.

Romain Saiss gave the visitors hope with 11 minutes left and they drew level five minutes later as captain Conor Coady bundled home an equaliser.

And they weren’t done there as Ruben Neves fired home an injury-time winner for Wolves.

Coady said: ‘Incredible. Honestly, it was emotional and tough. I didn’t think there was much in the game until it all kicked off and went a bit bonkers. It was a derby, so to win the way we have from 2-0 down is incredible.

‘No matter how the goals go in it’s incredible. It doesn’t matter who scored but luckily we got the win today.’

Armando Broja scored the only goal of the game as Southampton beat Leeds 1-0 on the English south coast.

Norwich picked up just their second point of the season after a 0-0 draw at home to

Brighton.
