WHAT IF HE’D BEEN A TERRORIST...?
Shortly before 11pm, on January 14, an intoxicated Jake Gibb arrives at the Scottish parliament and spends several minutes loitering outside
Just yards from Holyrood’s multi-million pound security kiosk, he is alarmingly able to scale a fence by the passholders’ entrance. No alarms go off
Incredibly, Holyrood staff have left a door into a maintenance area open, meaning Gibb is able to enter the building
He roams the building, taking selfies and taunting guards on the intercom, and would have walked below the MSPs’ debating chamber
Gibb manages to get into the Ministerial Tower, where Nicola Sturgeon and some of the Scottish Government’s most senior figures work
In a bid to escape, Gibb enters gardens near MSPs’ offices, but finds himself trapped and is eventually apprehended by police
