Bombs? No, we’re sniffing out bedbugs!

SPECIALLY-TRAINED dogs have been deployed across Glasgow ahead of COP26 – not looking for bombs, but for bedbugs.

The Scottish Mail on Sunday has discovered two major hotel chains in the city have employed a canine pest control service, Merlin

Environmen­tal, to ensure guests do not get bitten. The cocker and springer spaniels and other breeds, above, can detect the presence of insects, right, that may have colonised the mattresses, allowing the bedding to be cleaned before guests arrive for the summit.
