Ken you believe it! Ryan set for £10m role in Barbie film

RYAN GOSLING is set to earn a reported £10million to star as Barbie’s boyfriend Ken in a new live action film based on the sizezero plastic doll.

The £70 million movie stars Australian actress Margot Robbie in the title role and is due out in 2023. It has been described as ‘taking Barbie into the 21st Century’.

A source said: ‘Ryan is the only person in the running. The deal hasn’t been formally signed but he’s our Ken.

‘There are just a couple of small details to be ironed out but it’s a done deal. This is going to be a very modern take on Barbie. Margot only signed up because she was assured her Barbie will be a strong, independent woman. She’s Barbie for the #MeToo generation.’

The hiring of La La Land actor Gosling, above, ends months of speculation. Others said to have been in the running have included Chris Hemsworth, Jake Gyllenhaal and even David Beckham.

Margot, also pictured above, has called the Barbie doll ‘empowering’ as it ‘promotes confidence, curiosity and communication’.
