BOSS TRUSTS MONTGOMERY TO PERFORM

ADAM MONTGOMERY has earned the trust of Ange Postecoglou after his fine start to the season.

The 19-year-old left-back has made 14 appearances so far under the Celtic boss, although he was an unused substitute in yesterday’s 2-0 win against St Johnstone.

The academy graduate competes in defence with Greg Taylor, Josip Juranovic and Boli Bolingoli.

‘At the start of the season, the new gaffer came in and it was a clean slate for everyone, which gave me a bigger opportunity to show that I could be trusted,’ said Montgomery.

‘The gaffer has seen enough to know he can trust me in games. I have been doing what he has been telling me to do. Especially the way we play with the full-backs coming in and not always needing to go in narrow, you can still stay wide.’
