PETERHEAD PREVAIL ON PENALTIES

Peterhead 2 East Kilbride 2

PETERHEAD overcame brave East Kilbride on penalties after a thrilling tie.

The Lowland League outfit had taken a 12th-minute lead when Joao Vitoria slotted home.

The hosts turned the match around, however, with two goals in as many minutes just before half-time through Russell McLean and a cracker from Andrew McCarthy.

East Kilbride came roaring back, though, Vitoria tapping home his second on 65 minutes.

With no more goals during the closing stages and extra-time, the match went to penalties where James Finlay’s miss for the visitors proved costly.
