HEARTS manager Robbie Neilson last night told Rangers they will have to stump up more cash if they want to land John Souttar before the end of the January transfer window.

Neilson has revealed that the Tynecastle club have batted an opening bid for Souttar — understood to be around the £300,000 mark — ‘out of the ballpark’ and insisted he is determined to keep hold of him until the summer unless Hearts’ valuation is met.

The 25-year-old centre-half, who has agreed a pre-contract at Ibrox, was left out of Hearts’ 5-0 Scottish Cup win
