A TEENAGER has been arrested after a 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were stabbed to death yesterday.

Witnesses reported seeing two groups of men brawling in the early hours outside Biscuit Billy’s, a busy nightspot in Doncaster town centre.

The fight reportedly began inside the bar before spilling out into the street, in front of horrified onlookers. South Yorkshire police were called at 2.39am and found three people with stab wounds. An employee at the bar, who was working at the time but did not wish to be named, said: ‘Two groups of lads kicked off and one of our bouncers tried to intervene. I saw one lad with a head wound. It was mad. Really upsetting.’

Biscuit Billy’s, which stays open until 3am, advertises itself as a bar ‘where the party never stops’. It stands in Silver Street, which is home to a number of pubs, clubs, restaurants and takeaways.

The 17-year-old victim, named locally as Janis Kozlovskis, was taken to hospital, where doctors battled to save him, but he died a short time later.

The 21-year-old, Ryan Theobald, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a third victim, aged 18, is in hospital with minor injuries.

Tributes were paid on social media. Jude James posted on Facebook: ‘Rest in peace boys – Ryan Theobald Janis Kozlovskis – gone too soon, fly high, you’ll both be missed.’

On his Facebook page, Ryan said he was a former midfielder at Doncaster Rovers, although the club did not respond to a request for comment last night.

DETECTIVES have launched a murder inquiry after a woman in her 40s was stabbed in the street. The victim, who has not been named, was found by officers called to the Bordesley Green area of Birmingham at about 7pm on Friday. No arrests have been made.
