Mystery of No10 bill for cycling kit

-

FORMER Downing Street chief of staff Dan Rosenfield, right, was last night at the centre of bizarre claims that he had billed the taxpayer for the cycling kit he wore on his way to work at No10 – and for a fridge in his Whitehall office.

A source said: ‘There was a row when he billed about £1,000 worth of cycling clothes to the taxpayer and did the same for a fridge, which, given the row over the use of wine fridges for parties in there, was a bit much.’

Last night, Mr Rosenfield said that it was ‘total nonsense’ to say that he had claimed back the cost of the kit, but declined to comment when asked if he had put any type of clothes – or a fridge – on expenses.
