Now France’s football stars round on cat kicker Zouma

- From Peter Allen IN PARIS

FRENCH football stars have rounded on disgraced Premier League player Kurt Zouma after he was filmed kicking and slapping his cat.

The latest to criticise West Ham defender Zouma is World Cup winner and ex-Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf. Responding to the shocking video of Zouma, 27, attacking his pet Bengal cat, Mr Leboeuf asked whether the disgraced player had ‘lost it’ in an Instagram video.

He said: ‘I don’t understand. You played at Chelsea, we had the same number. We talked. I thought you were a good guy, but what are you doing?

‘It’s as if you were hitting a kid. You need to look at yourself. They need to take your cats away. I’m so disappointed. So disappointed.’

France’s manager Didier Deschamps said Zouma’s behaviour was intolerable.

Despite the video’s emergence, West Ham boss David Moyes has selected Zouma for the Hammers’ clash against Leicester today.

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady claimed Zouma had ‘no defence’ before insisting the footballer is ‘extremely remorseful’.

Baroness Brady claimed Zouma is on a ‘journey of re-education and atonement’. It was also suggested Zouma would be given animal welfare lessons by the RSPCA.

But the charity denied involvement in helping the defender.
