Joanna Lumley’s Great Cities Of The World

Continuing her TV career as a tour guide, Joanna Lumley turns her attention to the great cities of Europe in this three-part series. Coming up in future weeks are Berlin and Rome, but she begins in Paris. Taking to the skies in a hot-air balloon to survey the City of Light from above, Lumley (right) is moved to gush: ‘Gosh, this city just tears your heart. It’s so gorgeous!’

Then she visits the partly restored Notre-Dame cathedral, browses through the magnificent fashion items on offer at an upmarket outlet and meets heiress Daphne Guinness for a stylish lunch.

But Lumley also takes some surprising detours, from joining a group of breakdancers to seeing feminists wearing marigolds out on a demonstration, and finding out about a bee-keeping scheme for asylum seekers.
