Killie keep foot to floor

-

OLI SHAW’S goal nine minutes from full-time kept Kilmarnock two points clear of Arbroath at the top of the table.

Killie started the match on the front foot with Fraser Murray, Shaw and Lee Hodson all denied by Queens keeper Joshua Rae.

The hosts broke the deadlock just before half-time after Kyle Lafferty’s flick-on was turned home by Ash Taylor at the far post.

Derek McInnes’ side started the second half in the same fashion but Queens levelled on 65 minutes when Ally Roy found the net.

But with Arbroath ahead at home to Ayr, Killie kept pressing for a winner and Shaw delivered late on, coolly slotting Chris Burke’s delivery beyond Rae.
