At John Lewis, sales of
Easter trees are up 65 per cent compared with the same time last year, while wreaths have sold out.
Decorations supplier Ginger Ray said internet searches for ‘Easter wreath’ in January were 21 times higher than in 2020.
Popular Easter decorations include trees and wreaths, often adorned with eggs and spring flowers in bright or pastel colours.
Arts and crafts giant Hobbycraft has seen internet searches for its mache cracked egg rise by 300 per cent in
2022 compared to the previous year, and those for its hanging ceramic bunny by 122 per cent.
Retailers say Britons want to host more events at home for friends and family to make up for two Covid-hit years.
Pip Hounslow, of eco-friendly goods supplier The Conscious Party Box said: ‘I believe people are thinking, “Why not celebrate the small things in life right now?”’
