Pilot hurt as plane flies into flats

A PILOT is in hospital after a plane crashed into a block of flats.

The horrific incident happened in Upper Heyford, near Bicester, Oxfordshire, at about midday yesterday.

Police said the pilot managed to jump from the aircraft but ‘suffered several injuries’. A local described it on social media as ‘absolutely terrifying’.

Thames Valley Police said the block was empty, adding: ‘No one else has been injured.’

The area, near a former RAF base, is being redeveloped.
