No justice in SNP’s jails plan

There is little point in the

SNP proposing to free prisoners after serving only a third of their sentences unless senior Scottish judges support their proposals.

The Senators of the College of Justice are of the opinion such a move would seriously undermine public confidence in the Scottish justice system.

The SNP need to urgently review their underfundi­ng of community service orders to take the pressure off our overcrowde­d prisons.

In Scotland more than 30,000 crimes, including murders and rapes, were committed in only three years by offenders who were out on bail. The public can show their anger by not voting for SNP candidates on May 5.
