The MasterChef judge’s (above) search for winter sun takes him to the island of Madeira, where he participates in a local rite of passage that involves sliding down a mountain in a 100-yearold basket. Naturally, Gregg also checks out the local delicacies, discovering tropical fruit that even he’s never heard of, and also ticks an item off his bucket list when he gets up close to a family of whales . ★★★☆☆
