1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

But now Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean (right) are finding out about their own family histories, using genealogical research and the latest in DNA technology to delve into their roots in the last episode of the series.

There are particularly emotive discoveries for Dean, as he learns for the first time about some transatlantic relatives, whom he saw all too little of when he was young after the break-up of his parents’ marriage.

Meanwhile, for Torvill there’s an unexpected connection to football, and with it the revelation that she’s not the only sporting star in her family. ★★★★★
