The regular series takes viewers on a gentle trawl through two of the nation's most picturesque counties, but this special edition focuses on life for those who rely on the fishing industry to make their living.

Among those featured is Adam Morton, whose family-run fish-and-chip shop takes most of its money during the tourist season. Not only does he catch the fish in the waters around the Isles of Scilly, he grows the potatoes that make the chips.

Meanwhile, back on the mainland, Newquay-based Phil Trebilcock (right) prepares to sing at the town's annual fish festival. He also takes viewers on a hunt for lobster and crab.

Over in Brixham, Tristan Northway demonstrates his unusual 21st Century approach to fishing, which has brought him numerous online fans. ★★★★☆
